It gives me great pleasure to welcome Professor Neil R. Foster, John Curtin Distinguished Emeritus Professor to Liquim’s Board of Advisors.

Professor Foster has made a significant contribution to his research field over a sustained period of time.  The impact and contributions of Professor Foster’s work have been recognised with several honours, accolades and awards for his groundbreaking contributions. Notable honours include his election as a Fellow of prestigious institutions like the European Academy for Science and the Arts, the Australian Academy for Technological Sciences and Engineering, the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, and Engineers Australia.

Internationally respected for his innovative work in developing revolutionary drug delivery systems, Professor Foster’s achievements have garnered global recognition. In a notable achievement in 2010, the Central Organisation Committee of the People’s Republic of China honoured Professor Foster with a National Professorship as part of the Qian Ren 1000 Talents program, a distinction held by only a select few non-Chinese individuals.

With a remarkable body of work including 350 scholarly articles and involvement in 5 patent families related to drug delivery, Professor Foster has also played a significant role in nurturing the next generation of researchers. Having mentored numerous early-career researchers and students at various academic levels, his influence extends far beyond his own research endeavours.

Since joining academia in 1986, Professor Foster has raised approximately $18 million in research funding, 40% of which has been sourced from industry.

Beyond academia, Professor Foster’s impact is felt in industry, where he has raised substantial research funding and held key positions in pharmaceutical companies. His leadership as the co-founder and Technical Director of Eiffel Technologies P/L, a publicly listed company, underscores his entrepreneurial spirit. Additionally, his contributions as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of companies like Little Green Pharma, an Australian ASX listed company, highlight his multidimensional involvement in advancing innovative healthcare solutions.
